"Governor's Palace of Saint Louis" by Abdoukarim Fall, Mixed Media Painting

This painting is by Abdoukarim Fall, a contemporary artist based in Saint Louis, Senegal.  It was exhibited as part of an exhibit in St. Louis, MO celebrating both cities. 

The Governor's Palace (or Gouvernance) was built to contain the government administrative offices when Saint Louis was the capital of French Colonial Africa, from 1872 to 1957.  Now, Saint Louis is a UNESCO World Heritage site, renowned for its beautiful architecture from that era.

The painting is 39x39".  Mixed media.  Painted in acrylic, sand on canvas.
