This basket has been hand woven by highly skilled Tonga women artisans in northwestern Zimbabwe. Grass, reeds, and mapokwe palm fronds are woven to create this intricate masterpiece. It can take up to two weeks to make.

This is a functional piece of art, which is safe to use with food. It can be the center of attention on your table, hold fresh fruit or bread, or decorate a wall or shelf. Traditionally, these baskets are used to carry sorghum or maize from the fields and to winnow grain.
